Flights to Rio Carnival 2010 – book your flight now

November 1st, 2009

We’re already in November and now is the time to book your flight if you want to be in Rio de Janeiro Carnival 2010. Prices are already soaring, but you can still find some pretty good deals. Yet. Don’t postpone your decision, if you want to be in Rio in Carnival, the time to decide is now, before hotels and flight prices start to go up.

And don’t count on last time deal cheap flights. Rio are expecting a record attendance this season, so people are unlikely to quit their tickets.

Rio Carnival will be on February 14th this year (Rio Samba Parade will be on 14th-15th Feb), but you must arrive earlier and depart later if you want to enjoy the city and avoid the most busy times on airports (many brazilian do short time trips, so airports are near their maximum capacity around this date). If you stay for two weeks, by arriving on Feb 7th and departing on Feb 21st, you’ll have a lot of fun without much hassle.

A good place to find flights to Rio is Travelocity website. Travelocity has prices on hotels too but you better double check it. While there are cheap hotels in Macae, you’re strongly advised to find a hotel in Southern Side (Zona Sul) in Rio de Janeiro city, where everything happens in carnival. Macae is almost 120 miles away, so be careful.

You’re likely to find, as of now, flights from £ 530.00 (TAM, departing from London. Check link above) and hotels from around £2,300.00.
